Titan has had a bit of a rough start in life, but he's got a wonderful personality and spirit, He has been a loving and smart foster. Originally pulled from a shelter that had him on the list for euthanasia as a puppy, he landed in a foster's home who has let him be a puppy with friends, other fosters, freedom and care.
Titan was on hold in foster because his joints were a bit wonky due to potential poor nutrition/genetics when he was a tiny pup. We waited the 6 months and had him re-examined, it turns out his hips are good, but his left knee is a bit of a mess. Vet said it looks almost like its double jointed (?), so its a genetic issue. He isn't painful normally, has a different walk, and he was uncomfortable with her messing with it.
Vet doesn't recommend any medical action now, recommended he start & stay on a joint supplement like Cosequin the rest of his life & keep him lean to reduce stress on that joint. At some point in the future, it is probable he will tear his ACL and need surgery.
He can have a mostly normal life, somewhat limited activity probably only short hikes, less sets of stairs, no marathons or strenuous sports.
He is great with other dogs all sizes, semi active, likes to lay and chew on toys, will chase a toy a time or two or play chase. Likes to tug and wrestle as long as its with a more gentle friend.
