Sable is one of our special needs cats that was found to be FIV+ (feline immuno-deficiency virus) during a routine medical exam. She was negative for felv. Please don’t let that discourage you from adoption. Sable has no symptoms and is a very healthy girl that could live a long life just as any other cat. Sable was taken to animal control by family members too busy to care for a cat after her owner of 8 yrs had to be put in a nursing home. What fear this sweetheart of a cat must have felt with the smells, noises and cold cement she was forced to live on & wondering what had happened to her safe warm home. However, Sable has become one of the lucky ones..... to have been rescued in time. Sable is certainly a sweet girl with plenty of purrs to offer. This little lady is social with other cats. She is 9#'s, spayed, up to date on vaccinations, de-wormed & on flea control. FIV should not be considered an automatic death sentence. Many people run scared out of ignorance and mis-information. There is NO reason to euthanized because of FIV. I am sure if you do some checking into FIV you will agree. Sable would need to be an inside cat.
